The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 20 Verse 28 thru 38
28 Keep watch over yourselves and over the whole flock of which the holy Spirit has appointed you overseers, in which you tend the church of God that he acquired with his own blood. 29 I know that after my departure savage wolves will come among you, and they will not spare the flock. 30 And from your own group, men will come forward perverting the truth to draw the disciples away after them. 31 So be vigilant and remember that for three years, night and day, I unceasingly admonished each of you with tears. 32 And now I commend you to God and to that gracious word of his that can build you up and give you the inheritance among all who are consecrated. 33 I have never wanted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. 34 You know well that these very hands have served my needs and my companions. 35 In every way I have shown you that by hard work of that sort we must help the weak, and keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus who himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” 36 When he had finished speaking he knelt down and prayed with them all. 37 They were all weeping loudly as they threw their arms around Paul and kissed him, 38 for they were deeply distressed that he had said that they would never see his face again. Then they escorted him to the ship.
Acts 20:28-38 provides a emotional reminder of the responsibilities that come with shepherding God's flock. In this passage, the Apostle Paul addresses the leaders of the Ephesian church, urging them to be vigilant over the congregation entrusted to them. He emphasizes the importance of caring for one another, as they are the Church of God, bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. This charge is not merely administrative; it is deeply spiritual, for the well-being of the church hinges on their ability to guide, protect, and nurture.
As we reflect on this passage, it's essential to recognize that our role in the lives of those to whom we have shared the Gospel extends beyond mere physical presence. While we may not always be able to see or be with those we have touched with the message of salvation, we hold a responsibility to commend them to God. This act of entrusting them to Him allows His will to permeate their lives, impacting their hearts and guiding their decisions.
Encouraging others to practice their faith through prayer and the proclamation of their joy in salvation is vital. Though we may not witness their journey firsthand, we trust that God, who began a good work in them, will carry it on to completion. It is through their own engagement in prayer, worship, and service that they will grow rooted in their relationship with Christ, and the seeds we have sown will bear fruit in due season.
In closing, let us be reminded that our influence through the Gospel extends beyond our presence. May we commend each individual to God, believing in His ability to work within them, and watching with joy as they blossom in faith and fellowship. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

**I Commend You To God**
In the glow of twilight’s grace,
The elders gather, hearts embrace,
With tearful eyes and solemn breath,
They speak of love, of life, and death.
"Take heed," Paul says, with voice so clear,
"To guard the flock you hold so dear.
For wolves shall come, not sparing one,
In shadows where the light is shunned."
With sacred blood, the church was bought,
A price so high, in love it’s wrought.
Each soul entrusted—precious, bright,
As stars that pierce the shroud of night.
In memories cherished, he recalls,
The toils, the tears, the echoing calls.
"Yet I am bound, my heart is free,
For I’ve run the race, and truth I see."
He kneels to pray, they join his plea,
With hearts entwined in unity.
"Be faithful, strong, for He will guide,
In every storm, He’ll be your tide."
And when the day of parting’s near,
They weep for joy, but also fear.
A love that stretches, never breaks,
In each embrace, the promise wakes.
For in their hearts, the words remain,
"Above all else, let eternal love reign.
Remember well the path we share,
In every step, in every prayer."
So heed the call, O shepherds wise,
With watchful gaze and open eyes.
In every trial, IN every grace,
May you reflect the Savior’s eternal face. Amen.
