The Book of Psalms Chapter 113 v- 4 thru 7

4 High above all nations is the LORD; above the heavens his glory. 5 Who is like the LORD our God, enthroned on high, 6 looking down on heaven and earth? 7 He raises the needy from the dust, lifts the poor from the ash heap.

Psalm 113 is a powerful hymn of praise that highlights the greatness of God and His concern for the humble and oppressed. Verses 4-7 specifically emphasize God’s sovereignty and mercy, presenting a stark contrast between His exalted position and His compassionate involvement in the lives of the lowly.

In verse 4, the psalmist proclaims, “The LORD is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens.” This verse establishes God’s supreme authority, reminding believers that He reigns over all creation. His glory transcends earthly powers and rulers, affirming that no one can compare to His majesty. This declaration serves as a foundation for trust and worship, encouraging faithful followers to recognize that despite the chaos and struggles of the world, God remains in control.

Verses 5 and 6 continue to elevate God’s position, asking rhetorically who is like the Lord our God? He is depicted as enthroned on high, yet His gaze is upon the earth. This coincidence illustrates that while God is immeasurably powerful and sovereign, He is also intimately aware of human affairs. His attention to the world reveals a God who is not distant or detached but deeply involved in the lives of His creation.

Verse 7 highlights this involvement, stating that God “raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap.” Here, the psalmist underscores God’s commitment to justice and care for those who are marginalized. This act of uplifting the lowly reflects His compassion and love, reminding believers of His promise to bring hope and restoration.

In summary, Psalm 113:4-7 beautifully encapsulates the greatness of God alongside His tender concern for humanity, inviting all to praise Him for His unending mercy and justice. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

10-14-2024 Psalm 113 V-0407

**Above the Heavens His Glory**

In heights above, where glory reigns,

The Lord is crowned, His power sustains,

Exalted high, beyond all lands,

His majesty of mighty hands.

Who is like our God, so pure, so bright?

He rules the heavens, the stars, the light.

Yet from His throne, He looks below,

To see the hearts that ache and know.

He lifts the poor from dust and grime,

Reclaims the lost, restores with time,

From ash heap’s depths, He raises high,

With tender love, He hears their cry.

O wondrous grace, O mercy true,

In every heart, He makes anew,

The humble find their place in grace,

As God’s own love, they now embrace.

So let us sing with voices clear,

In praise of Him, our God so near,

For in His strength, the weak shall stand,

Held by the touch of His eternal kind hand. Amen.
