The 2nd Letter to the Corinthians Chapter 13 Verse 11 thru 13
11 Finally, brothers, rejoice. Mend your ways, encourage one another, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. 12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the holy ones greet you.13 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the holy Spirit be with all of you.
In 2 Corinthians 13:11-13, the Apostle Paul encourages the church in Corinth to be joyful, to strive for restoration, and to live in harmony with one another. He concludes his letter with a warm and heartfelt greeting, saying, "Greet one another with a holy kiss." This “Kiss of Peace” is a gesture of love and unity among believers.
The practice of the Kiss of Peace has roots in the Old Testament, where it symbolized friendship and fidelity. For example, in the Book of Proverbs, a kiss can signify trust and affection between friends. As the early Christians developed their worship practices, they adopted this gesture to enhance their communal bonds, reflecting the love and unity that Jesus emphasized.
During the Mass, the Kiss of Peace is exchanged before the Eucharist, where believers express their mutual forgiveness and renewal. It serves as a reminder that we are all part of one body in Christ, encouraging a spirit of reconciliation and community. This tradition is not just about the physical act; it signifies a deeper commitment to love one another just as Christ loved us. It’s about creating a welcoming and loving atmosphere, whether in a church setting or outside of it.
When we greet others, whether in a service, at work, or in our neighborhoods, we should embody this same spirit of peace and love. This means approaching others with kindness, openness, and warmth, recognizing that every encounter is an opportunity to reflect the love of God. By doing so, we make our communities stronger and more united, contributing to a world that desperately needs understanding and compassion. Amen..
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Greet One Another With A Holy Kiss**
Brothers and sisters, rejoice in the light,
As Paul penned his words, a messenger bright.
With hearts intertwined, in love’s gentle sway,
He beckons us closer, to walk in Christ way.
Be of one mind, let peace be your guide,
With grace like a river, let hearts open wide.
In strength, we stand firm, through trials we face,
The Lord of all comfort provides us His grace.
Give one another a holy embrace,
In the name of the Father, all hurdles erase.
The Son's love unites us, through struggles we share,
In the Spirit, we gather, reflecting His care.
The fellowship blessed, as we walk hand in hand,
Together in faith, on this journey we stand.
With joys and with sorrows, in every endeavor,
Let kindness and mercy be bonds that tether.
Now to Him who is able, let praises ascend,
In His love we find joy that knows no end.
As Paul closed his letter, so we too declare,
The grace of our Lord, forever we’ll share. Amen.
