The Gospel of Mark Chapter 9 V- 38 and 41
38 John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us.” 39 Jesus replied, “Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. 40 For whoever is not against us is for us. 41 Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward.”
In Mark 9:38-41, we encounter a powerful lesson about inclusivity and God's boundless forgiveness. The passage describes an incident where John expresses concern over someone casting out demons in Jesus' name, highlighting a narrow view of who can serve God. Jesus, however, challenges this mindset, emphasizing that anyone who performs acts of kindness or speaks in His name is contributing to the greater mission of God’s Kingdom. He reassures us that, regardless of our differences, those who are not against Him are for Him.
This message extends beyond the immediate context, revealing the heart of God’s grace and forgiveness. God is not limited by human boundaries. He embraces all who believe in Him, regardless of their past or their spiritual journey. Jesus’ words serve as a reminder that faith, however small, is powerful and that sincere belief in Him leads to forgiveness of sins. It highlights God’s desire for all of humanity to come to Him—no one is excluded from His love.
In our own lives, we often struggle with feelings of inadequacy or guilt over our shortcomings. Yet, through passages like this, we are reminded that forgiveness is always within reach. God’s promise is clear: if we believe in Jesus as our Savior, He will forgive us and guide us toward His Kingdom.
In essence, Mark 9:38-41 assures us of God’s intrinsic desire to welcome us, regardless of our past actions. His grace knows no bounds, and in accepting His forgiveness, we journey closer to the heart of God. May we all take comfort in the knowledge that as long as we reach out in faith, we are embraced by His everlasting love. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Whoever Is Not Against Us Is For Us**
In days of old, the hearts were true,
John saw a man with power anew,
Casting out demons in Jesus' name,
Yet fear of the unknown brought him to shame.
“Stop him,” he cried, “he's not with our crew!”
But Jesus, with wisdom, his worry outgrew.
“For those who are with me, no need to divide,
In acts of kindness, my love will abide.”
“Even a cup of water, given with grace,
Is treasure in Heaven, a warm, sacred place.
No soul is too lost, no heart too far gone,
For I am the Savior; in me, all are drawn.”
So let us remember, in each hand we hold,
That love knows no limits, no boundaries, no mold.
As we forgive and embrace, let our hearts expand,
Together in faith, we will walk hand in hand. Amen.
