Isaiah Chapter 11 V- One and Nine
1 But a shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse, and from his roots a bud shall blossom. 2 The spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him: a spirit of wisdom and of understanding, A spirit of counsel and of strength, a spirit of knowledge and of fear of the LORD, 3 and his delight shall be the fear of the LORD. Not by appearance shall he judge, nor by hearsay shall he decide, 4 But he shall judge the poor with justice, and decide fairly for the land’s afflicted. He shall strike the ruthless with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked. 5 Justice shall be the band around his waist, and faithfulness a belt upon his hips. 6 Then the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat; The calf and the young lion shall browse together, with a little child to guide them. 7 The cow and the bear shall graze, together their young shall lie down; the lion shall eat hay like the ox. 8 The baby shall play by the viper’s den, and the child lay his hand on the adder’s lair. 9 They shall not harm or destroy on all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be filled with knowledge of the LORD as water covers the sea.
Isaiah 11:1-10 paints a vivid picture of the coming Messiah, describing Him as a shoot from the stump of Jesse, symbolizing the lineage of King David. This imagery signifies hope and renewal, illustrating that from what seemed like a dead end—a stump—would arise a ruler endowed with divine wisdom, understanding, and strength. The passage beautifully articulates the characteristics of this True Davidic King, emphasizing His role as a just and righteous leader who will bring peace and harmony to the world.
The fulfillment of this prophecy is profoundly realized in the birth of Jesus Christ, born of a lowly virgin in Bethlehem. Jesus embodies the very essence of Isaiah's vision, carrying the promise of salvation and the redemption of humanity. His life and ministry reflect the qualities foretold by the prophets: wisdom in teaching, compassion in healing, and authority over creation.
Throughout the Scriptures, the prophets consistently testify to the coming of this Messiah, affirming God’s unwavering plan for salvation. They pave the way for a transformative hope that culminates in the person of Jesus, who not only fulfills these ancient prophecies but also brings a new covenant of grace and love.
As we reflect on Isaiah's words, we are reminded of the profound truth that God’s promises are always fulfilled, often in unexpected ways. Jesus stands as the ultimate testament to this hope, inviting all to experience the peace and joy of His Kingdom. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Isaiah’s Telling of Jesus the True Davidic King**
In the heart of a barren land,
Where hope seemed lost, a promise stands,
A shoot will blossom, green and bright,
From Jesse's stump, a gift of light.
Wisdom rests upon His brow,
Injustice bows; He’ll show us how,
With understanding, deep and true,
He'll guide the weary, lead anew.
The spirit of counsel, strength divine,
In Him, a love that intertwines,
Righteousness, His cloak to wear,
With peace, He’ll banish every care.
The wolf and lamb in harmony,
Together dance, in unity,
No more shall fear or strife abound,
In His embrace, true peace is found.
From lowly birth, a Savior came,
In humble guise, He bore our shame,
The world’s salvation, wrapped in grace,
In every heart, He finds a place.
Oh, let the nations rise and sing,
To Him, our hope, our everything,
For in this Child, our dreams align,
The True King reigns, love’s grand design.
So let us walk in paths of light,
With faith in Him, our hearts ignite,
For in His presence, we shall see,
The promise of eternity. Amen.
