The Gospel of Luke 15 Verses One thru Seven
1 The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to him, 2 but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” 3 So to them he addressed this parable. 4 “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? 5 And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy 6 and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
In Luke 15:1-7, we find a profound parable that highlights the unbounded mercy of God and the joy in repentance. The passage tells of a shepherd who leaves his ninety-nine sheep to seek out the one that is lost. This parable is a moving illustration of God's relentless pursuit of every soul, emphasizing that everyone, regardless of their past, has the chance to repent and return to Him.
The divine invitation to repentance is constant, reminding us that grace is not a one-time offer but a persistent call to seek truth over pride. Too often, individuals trap themselves in self-imposed prisons, shackled by pride and unwillingness to acknowledge their need for change. We may be reminded of the saying, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.” Similarly, we can guide those who are lost towards the path of grace through the Sacraments, yet it is ultimately up to them to embrace this opportunity for transformation.
Those who sincerely seek truth will find liberation; the Truth has the power to set every sinner free from the darkness that envelops them. This journey of repentance is not merely about acknowledging wrongs but embracing the divine mercy that offers a second chance—again and again. Genuine humility in recognizing one’s failures opens the door to grace, leading to profound healing and freedom.
In conclusion, as we reflect on this parable, let us remember that the joy of heaven is found in the repentance of the lost. As we seek, may we encourage others to do the same, for in the pursuit of truth, we find the paths to freedom and light. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**There will More Joy in Heaven**
In fields where sheep roam wild and free,
A shepherd's heart beats tenderly.
Amongst the flock, one strays away,
Into the night, it drifts to play.
With ninety-nine, the shepherd stays,
Yet love calls forth through winding ways.
He leaves the safe to seek the lost,
No fear of danger, no thought of cost.
Through shadows deep, he calls its name,
In darkness rich, ignites the flame.
“Come back to me,” his voice does soar,
With hope that rises for evermore.
For every soul, both small and weak,
Deserves the love that they can seek.
He finds the lost, a joyful tear,
In heaven's heart, their song rings clear.
The angels dance, the heavens sing,
For every sinner, redemption brings.
So let us not the truth deny,
In humble hearts, our spirits fly.
For we are called to seek and find,
With grace to guide the broken mind.
Embrace the light, let pride fall low,
In every heart, His love can grow.
So if you wander, know it's true,
The shepherd seeks, He calls for you.
No matter how far you may roam,
The path of grace will lead you home. Amen.
