First Letter to the Corinthians 2 v-7 thru 16
7 We speak God’s wisdom, mysterious, hidden, which God predetermined before the ages for our glory,8 and which none of the rulers of this age knew; for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written: “What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him,” 10 this God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit scrutinizes everything, even the depths of God. 11 Among human beings, who knows what pertains to a person except the spirit of the person that is within? Similarly, no one knows what pertains to God except the Spirit of God. 12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit that is from God, so that we may understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we speak about them not with words taught by human wisdom, but with words taught by the Spirit, describing spiritual realities in spiritual terms. 14 Now the natural person does not accept what pertains to the Spirit of God, for to him it is foolishness, and he cannot understand it, because it is judged spiritually. 15 The spiritual person, however, can judge everything but is not subject to judgment by anyone. 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to counsel him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
This passage presents a profound discussion on the nature of divine wisdom and the contrast between worldly understanding and spiritual insight. In this passage, the Apostle Paul emphasizes that the wisdom of God, which is hidden and mysterious, is revealed to believers through the Holy Spirit. He asserts that this wisdom was predetermined by God before the ages for our glory, demonstrating its eternal significance.
Paul contrasts this divine wisdom with the wisdom of the world, which often leads to confusion and misunderstanding. He notes that the rulers of this age, who do not recognize the wisdom of God, ultimately contribute to their own downfall by failing to grasp the significance of Christ’s crucifixion. The passage highlights that God's wisdom is counterintuitive—while the world seeks power and prestige, God’s plan for redemption comes through humility and sacrifice.
The role of the Holy Spirit is central in this text. Paul explains that the Spirit reveals the deep things of God to believers, enabling us to comprehend spiritual truths that are inaccessible to the natural mind. This idea underscores the transformative power of the Spirit in illuminating the hearts and minds of us believers, allowing us to discern and appreciate the profound depths of God's revelation.
Furthermore, Paul asserts that those of us who are spiritual can judge all things, reflecting the discernment that comes from a relationship with God. This spiritual insight distinguishes us believers from those who remain entrenched in worldly perspectives.
1 Corinthians 2:7-15 calls believers to recognize the superiority of God's wisdom over human understanding, highlighting the importance of spiritual discernment granted through the Holy Spirit. It invites readers to embrace the transformative nature of divine revelation, encouraging a deeper engagement with the mysteries of faith. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Taught by the Spirit Everything Judged Right**
In shadows deep, where wisdom lies,
A secret truth, the Spirit cries,
Before the ages, God's design,
A hidden plan, in love divine.
Not earthly minds can grasp this grace,
Nor rulers bold, nor worldly place;
For in the Cross, true power’s shown,
In humble hearts, His glory’s known.
The wisdom of the world is vain,
It leads to loss, it brings but pain;
But those who seek with open eyes,
Find treasures rich, where faith complies.
The Spirit speaks, reveals the deep,
In quiet hearts, His promise keep;
He guides us through the darkened night,
Transforms our minds to grasp the light.
What eye has seen, what ear has heard,
The things of God, beyond all word?
Yet to the faithful, He imparts,
The mysteries locked within our hearts.
For those who walk in Spirit's way,
Can judge the world, discern the day;
With wisdom pure, they rise above,
Embracing truth, and boundless love.
Let us seek this sacred sight,
To know the depths of truth and right,
In Christ alone, our hope and song,
In His great wisdom, we truly belong. Amen.
