The Letter to the Romans Chapter 13 Verse 11 thru 14
11 And do this because you know the time; it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed; 12 the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness [and] put on the armor of light; 13 let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not in rivalry and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.
Romans 13:11-14 urges us to awaken from spiritual slumber and live as children of the light. The apostle Paul emphasizes the critical importance of throwing off the works of darkness, which encompass sin, selfishness, and anything that distracts us from God’s glory. To embody this transformation, we must fully surrender to the will of God—an act that calls for daily commitment and devotion.
Central to this surrender is the practice of immersing ourselves in Scripture. Reading the Bible every day not only nourishes our souls but also aligns our hearts with God’s desires. It is through His Word that we understand His character and His commandments, allowing us to discern the path He wants us to take. Let the Scriptures be your guide, propelling you towards righteousness and away from the shadows of sin.
Additionally, prayer must be woven into the fabric of our daily lives. When Paul instructs us to pray unceasingly, he invites us into an intimate relationship with God, casting every care upon Him. This constant communion helps us release our burdens and gain clarity, empowering us to overcome the distractions and temptations that the enemy places in our way.
Moreover, as we seek to live for the King of Kings, let us share the Gospel with every breath we take. Our words and actions should reflect the love and truth of Christ, drawing others into the light. Proclaiming the Gospel transforms our perspectives and strengthens our commitment to God’s purpose.
Only by fully surrendering, engaging with the Word, praying fervently, and evangelizing can we truly eliminate the darkness from our lives, choosing instead to walk in the glorious light of Christ. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Day Four Novena for Repose of the Soul John Jeffries. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Put On The Armor of Light**
In shadows deep, the night does fade,
The dawn of grace, a light displayed.
Awake, arise, let slumber cease,
Put on the armor; find your peace.
This is the hour for redemption's near,
Our hearts ignited, shed all fear.
With every step, the path laid bare,
Leave darkness behind remain in His care.
Cast off the works, of night and sin,
Embrace the day, let purity win.
In love we walk, as one we stand,
United in faith, hand in hand.
With joyful hearts, let us be bold,
In Christ's embrace, our lives unfold.
No strife, nor envy, shall we wear,
But clothed in hope, our burdens share.
So let us strive, with purpose clear,
To walk in light and draw Him near.
In every moment, seek the way,
Reflect Jesus’ love in each passing day. Amen.
