The Book of Revelation Chapter 2 Verse Eight thru Eleven
8 “To the angel of the church in Smyrna, write this: “‘The First and the Last, who once Died but came to Life, says this: 9 “I know your tribulation and poverty, but you are rich. I know the slander of those who claim to be Jews and are not, but rather are members of the assembly of Satan. 10 Do not be afraid of anything that you are going to suffer. Indeed, the devil will throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will face an ordeal for ten days. Remain faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. 11 “‘“Whoever has ears ought to hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The victor shall not be harmed by the second death.”’
In Revelation 2:8-11, the message to the church in Smyrna resonates deeply with the trials faced by believers throughout history. Jesus addresses this suffering church by acknowledging their tribulations and poverty, yet He emphasizes that they are rich in faith and spirit. He reminds them that, despite their earthly circumstances, their true wealth lies in their relationship with Him.
Satan, as the adversary, is constantly lurking around our souls, seeking to sow seeds of doubt, despair, and division. His tactics may include persecution, temptation, and discouragement. In the face of suffering, it can feel overwhelming, as if we are navigating a storm without any sign of hope. However, Christ’s words offer us reassurance: “Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer.” He recognizes the reality of our struggles but urges us not to let fear take root in our hearts.
Instead, He calls us to remain steadfast, even when faced with the threat of imprisonment and death. The promise of eternal life for those who are faithful to the end serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us that earthly suffering is temporary, while our reward in heaven is eternal. Jesus encourages us to see our tribulations not as a sign of abandonment but as a profound opportunity to witness to His glory and grace.
In a world where challenges and suffering are part of the human experience, we are reminded that we can endure because we are never alone. Jesus walks with us through each trial, inviting us to lean into our faith and trust in His promises. Let us encourage one another to embrace our identity in Christ and find strength in His unfailing love. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Remain Faithful Until Death**
In Smyrna’s heart, the faithful stand,
Through trials fierce, they wave their hand.
A commended few, with courage bright,
In darkest days, they walk in light.
Fear not the whispers of death's decree,
For He who was dead holds the key.
The first and the last, in shadows of pain,
He promises life, to rise once again.
Rich in the spirit, though poverty speaks,
The crown of life is for those who seek.
In every struggle, His strength bestowed,
Through fiery trials, His love shall explode.
The slanderous tongues, like daggers thrown,
Yet truth prevails, for they are not alone.
A faithful remnant, in hope they unite,
With steadfast hearts, they shine so bright.
“Be faithful unto death,” the voice of grace,
A promise eternal, in that sacred place.
No second death shall have a hold,
For faith ignites the hearts of the bold.
So to you, O Smyrna, the message rings clear,
In the face of fear, let hearts persevere.
For every wound and every tear,
He walks beside you forever near. Amen.
