The Gospel of Matthew 24 Verses 36 thru 44
36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37 For as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 In [those] days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day that Noah entered the ark. 39 They did not know until the flood came and carried them all away. So will it be [also] at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be out in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left. 42 Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come. 43 Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into. 44 So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.
In Matthew 24:36-44, Jesus imparts a profound message about vigilance and preparedness for the coming of the Son of Man. He emphasizes that no one knows the exact hour of His return, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. This teaching serves as a poignant reminder of life's unpredictability and the importance of living each moment with intention and grace.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Kevin O’Leary, we are reminded of the legacy he leaves behind—a man of faith, love, and commitment. Married for 42 years to Georgi, Kevin dedicated his life to his family, raising two children and delighting in the joy of his grandchildren. His life exemplified the very essence of being ready and willing to embrace God’s call, embracing his role in both family and community with open arms.
Just as the Scriptures warn us to stay vigilant—like a thief in the night—Kevin embodied this spirit. He was a man who lived fully in the present, taking time to cherish his loved ones and foster connections in our parish community. As we reflect on this passage today, let us remember that we are all called to be prepared, to live in accordance with our faith, and to be ready for the unexpected moments in life.
Kevin's departure is a reminder that life is fleeting. Let us honor him by echoing his readiness to meet the Lord with open hearts. May we embrace each day with the same love and commitment he showed, and may we, too, be ever ready when our time comes. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**The Son of Man Will Come at an Hour You Do Not Expect**
Not one knows the day, not one knows the time,
A secret held close, like a well-cherished rhyme.
Heavenly hosts and angels in flight,
Await the command of the Father’s own light.
As days roll like waves on the vast, endless sea,
We toil and we laugh, in life’s mystery.
Like the days of Noah, hearts carefree and warm,
Yet the watchful await, through the calm and the storm.
Be ready, be steadfast, let faith be your guide,
For the promise of dawn brings hope from inside.
Like the fig tree that blooms, with signs to behold,
In patience and prayer, let your heart be consoled.
For when the night falls, sudden and fast,
Will you be awake, or slip into the past?
Two in the field, one taken, one stays,
The choice lies before us in these fleeting days.
So gather your loved ones, hold tight what is dear,
In the embrace of the present, let go of your fear.
Let kindness be sown, let your spirit be bright,
For the hour is coming, like a thief in the night.
With each moment we share, may our hearts be so free,
Ready and willing, in love’s mystery.
When the call comes for us, may we rise and rejoice,
In the arms of our Savior, we’ll hear heaven’s voice. Amen.
