The Book of Sirach Ch Nine v- Ten

10 Do not abandon old friends; new ones cannot equal them. A new friend is like new wine— when it has aged, you drink it with pleasure.

Who do you trust? New friends or friends of old? Friendship must advance like that of an aging wine where it obviously gets better and better as it goes. Hopefully we all have had this experience; friends of old are trusting and more precious than gold. Amen. Today I reflect in this passage of time as friends like an aged fine wine. Real friends can be counted on one hand; call anytime no question help they stand. Your spouse should be number one like a thumb always up in the air as a symbol of always being ok with every need and/or encouragement of love, faith and hope of grace and forgiveness allowing true friendship to age into perfection. Enjoy the poem. Who’s your five? Amen?

Old Friends Treasure

In the embroidery of life, friendships are spun,

Threads of trust and love, beautifully begun.

Through the years, as time slips away,

Old friends are treasures, growing with each passing day.

Like fine wine aging, they become refined,

With every shared moment, a deeper bond we find.

Through laughter and tears, they've stood the test,

In their presence, we feel truly blessed.

The youthful days of carefree mirth,

Now mingled with wisdom, gained from this earth.

Old friends, like aged wine, are richer in taste,

Their understanding and warmth, never to waste.

In the hustle of life, they're a calming breeze,

A safe harbor where we find peace and ease.

Their presence a comfort, like a familiar song,

Through the ups and downs, they help us stay strong.

As we journey through the years, side by side,

Old friends remain steadfast, like an unwavering guide.

They know our stories, the chapters we've penned,

And in their embrace, our souls truly mend.

So, let us not abandon these friends so dear,

For their loyalty and love, we hold them near.

Like fine wine aging, they only grow more divine,

With each passing year, like a precious vintage wine. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for a little boy named David Alexander. Praise God thank You Jesus. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.
