The Book of Isaiah 53 v- One thru Five

1 Who would believe what we have heard? To whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2 He grew up like a sapling before him, like a shoot from the parched earth; He had no majestic bearing to catch our eye, no beauty to draw us to him. 3 He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, knowing pain, Like one from whom you turn your face, spurned, and we held him in no esteem. 4 Yet it was our pain that he bore, our sufferings he endured. We thought of him as stricken, struck down by God and afflicted, 5 But he was pierced for our sins, crushed for our iniquity. He bore the punishment that makes us whole, by his wounds we were healed.

Who has believed our message? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? This piercing question opens a prophetic vision that shakes the soul, a revelation that defies human expectations. A tender shoot emerges from the arid ground, unremarkable, devoid of majesty or beauty that might attract us. In His humble appearance, He is overlooked, a figure of no esteem.

Despised and rejected, this Man of Sorrows walks a path of suffering, deeply acquainted with grief. His appearance is one from which men turn away, as though His suffering were too great to bear witness. He is the embodiment of rejection, the echo of humanity's darkest inclinations.

Yet, in a divine paradox, it is He who carries our afflictions, bearing the weight of our sorrows upon His shoulders. We mistakenly deem Him stricken by God, smitten and afflicted, as if His suffering were a mark of divine displeasure. But this is the profound mystery: His wounds are not His own; they are ours.

He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brings us peace falls upon Him, and by His wounds, we are healed. In the stark agony of His sacrifice, there lies a transformative power, a redemptive grace that heals the fractured human condition.

This passage from Isaiah unveils the suffering servant, a figure of profound humility and boundless love. In His suffering, we find a mirror reflecting our own brokenness, yet also a window opening to divine compassion. Through His pain, we are offered peace; through His wounds, we are granted healing. This is the puzzling beauty of divine love, a love that redeems and restores, turning sorrow into salvation. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

07-18-2024 Isaiah 53 V-0105

**Pierced for our Sins**

Who has believed our message,

To whom is the arm revealed?

A tender shoot from dry ground,

No beauty, no appeal.

Despised and rejected by men,

A man of sorrows, acquainted with pain;

Like one from whom people hide their faces,

He was despised and held in disdain.

Yet surely He took up our infirmities,

And carried our sorrows away;

We considered Him stricken by God,

Smitten and afflicted that day.

But He was pierced for our transgressions,

Crushed for our iniquities;

The punishment that brought us peace

Was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed, indeed. Amen.
