The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 28 V- One and Ten

1 After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, approached, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it. 3 His appearance was like lightning and his clothing was white as snow. 4 The guards were shaken with fear of him and became like dead men. 5 Then the angel said to the women in reply, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. 6 He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him.’ Behold, I have told you.” 8 Then they went away quickly from the tomb, fearful yet overjoyed, and ran to announce this to his disciples. 9 And behold, Jesus met them on their way and greeted them. They approached, embraced his feet, and did him homage. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”

Matthew 28:1-10 recounts the momentous event of the resurrection of Jesus, a cornerstone of the Catholic faith. As dawn breaks on the first day of the week, two women, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, go to visit the tomb. Their journey reflects a desire to honor Jesus, yet they arrive to find the stone rolled away and an angel delivering the astonishing news: “He is not here; He has risen!”

This passage not only confirms the resurrection but also illustrates deep themes of hope, grace, and the transformative power of faith. The angel's message, “Do not be afraid,” speaks to our own fears and uncertainties, showing us that even in the gravest moments, God’s presence brings peace. The women are instructed to share this good news with the disciples, emphasizing the importance of spreading joy and light. As they hurried away, filled with both fear and great joy, they encounter the risen Jesus himself, who reassures them with the words, "Do not be afraid."

This encounter serves as an invitation for all of us. Just like the women at the tomb, we too can behold the Risen Jesus. He calls us to experience His resurrection power in our daily lives, transforming our fears into faith and our burdens into blessings. In recognizing His presence, we are reminded that we are not merely passive recipients of His grace but active participants in His mission of love.

As we embrace the calling to be servants of all, let's share the joy of the resurrection with others. In serving, we reflect the heart of Jesus, extending His love and compassion to a world in desperate need of hope. May we boldly share the message of His resurrection, for in doing so, we encounter the risen Lord and empower others to do the same. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

04-21-2025 Matthew 28 v0110

**Jesus met them on their way**

At dawn, when shadows softly fade,

Two hearts approached the entrance made,

Magdala Mary and the other Mary, with love profound,

To honor their Lord, to seek and surround.

The stone was rolled, the tomb stood bare,

An angel whispered, "Do not despair!

He is not here, He is risen today,

A promise fulfilled in a glorious way."

With fear and joy, their spirits entwined,

They raced to share what they soon would find,

The news of hope, of life reborn,

In every heart, a new dawn was worn.

In His presence, He met their doubts along the way,

"Do not be afraid,” He tenderly would pray,

"Go tell the world of this miracle bright,

That death is defeated, and love is the light."

So let us, too, like the women of old,

Be servants of love, our hearts brave and bold,

For in the risen Jesus, we find our call,

To share His grace and hope with all. Amen.
