The Gospel of Mark Chapter 6 Verse 30 thru 34

30 The apostles gathered together with Jesus and reported all they had done and taught.31 He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” People were coming and going in great numbers, and they had no opportunity even to eat. 32 So they went off in the boat by themselves to a deserted place. 33 People saw them leaving and many came to know about it. They hastened there on foot from all the towns and arrived at the place before them. 34 When Jesus disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.

In Mark 6:30-34, we witness a profound moment in the life of Jesus and His disciples. After a period of intense ministry, where the disciples returned from their mission of preaching and healing, Jesus invited them to retreat—to "come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while." This call to rest is not merely a suggestion but an essential component of spiritual health and effectiveness in ministry. Even amidst the urgent needs of the world, Jesus understands that replenishing our strength is vital for fulfilling our calling.

The scene reflects Jesus' deep compassion for His followers. He recognizes their exhaustion and the overwhelming demands placed upon them. When they arrive at the deserted place, they find crowds awaiting them, a testament to the unquenchable thirst of humanity for salvation and healing. However, Jesus doesn't dismiss the need for rest. Instead, He demonstrates that our physical and emotional well-being must be prioritized to ensure we are fully equipped to share the Good News and confront the struggles of the world—symbolized by the “demons” that manifest in various forms, such as despair, addiction, and injustice.

As we navigate our own lives filled with distractions and demands, it’s crucial to take a cue from this passage. Jesus desires for us to find moments of solitude and rejuvenation, reminding us that rest is a form of divine grace. By prioritizing our spiritual and physical health, we position ourselves to engage more effectively with the world around us, ready to offer the hope of salvation. So, let us heed His call to rest, ensuring we are prepared to share His love and confront the challenges we face. Today we take the example of Christ’s message to heart by attending a spiritual rejuvenation retreat at Our Lady Queen of the Universe in Orlando and simply reflect and prepare ourselves for our continued daily mission of sharing the Good News. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena for love of James. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

02-07-2026 Mark 6 v3034

**His Heart Was Moved With Pity For Them**

In the quiet hush of evening light,

The weary souls seek rest tonight,

From journeys far, they've borne the weight,

As hearts rejoice yet pause at fate.

"Come away," the Savior said,

“To a desolate place, let’s rest instead.”

With heavy hearts, yet hopeful eyes,

They sought the peace beneath the skies.

But crowds gathered, a sea of need,

Hungry hearts, for truth they plead.

Their spirits dim, their burdens deep,

In every gaze, the longing seeped.

Jesus, moved by love profound,

In their faces, compassion found.

He saw their pain, their aching souls,

And whispered hope to make them whole.

Yet in His call for silent grace,

He showed a path, a sacred space,

For in the stillness, strength is born,

In restful moments, new life is worn.

Oh, take the time to pause each day,

To find your rest along the way.

For in that stillness, we’re renewed,

And filled again with love that’s true.

So let us heed His gentle plea,

To find our rest in Him, you see.

Prepared to share, to love, to heal,

In quiet moments, our hearts reveal. Amen.
