The Gospel of Mark Chapter 4 Verse 21 thru 25
21 He said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be placed under a bushel basket or under a bed, and not to be placed on a lampstand? 22 For there is nothing hidden except to be made visible; nothing is secret except to come to light. 23 Anyone who has ears to hear ought to hear.” 24 He also told them, “Take care what you hear. The measure with which you measure will be measured out to you, and still more will be given to you. 25 To the one who has, more will be given; from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”
In Mark 4:21-25, Jesus uses the imagery of a lamp to illustrate the transformative power of salvation. He asks, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a basket or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand?” This profound metaphor reminds us that once we have surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ as our Savior, our very existence is transformed—we are like a lamp placed on a stand for the world to see.
When we accept Christ, we receive the light of His grace, mercy, and truth. This illumination is not merely for our benefit but is intended to shine brightly to others. Just as a lamp’s purpose is to dispel darkness, our lives are called to reflect the love and goodness of God, drawing others toward the hope found in Jesus. It is crucial that we allow our light to shine, for it serves as a beacon of faith, hope, and salvation in a world often enveloped in confusion and despair.
Moreover, in verse 25, Jesus emphasizes the principle that “whoever has will be given more.” This encourages us to share the light we’ve received. The more we freely give our faith and love to those around us, the more we will grow in understanding and joy. Conversely, those who hide their light or fail to live out their faith will find themselves lacking in spiritual discernment.
Let us, therefore, embrace our identity as lights in the world, keeping our lamps on their stands. In doing so, we draw others closer to the radiant love of Christ, inviting them to experience the transformative power of His salvation. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Nothing Is Secret Except To Come To Light**
In the quiet of the morn, a lamp is placed,
Not under a bushel, hidden but embraced,
On a stand, where light inspires grace,
To guide the weary through the shadows they face.
A measure given will return anew,
With open hearts, the mysteries break through.
For those who seek, more wisdom will be shared,
And truths, like seeds, in fertile minds are spared.
Take heed, dear souls, the words you’ve earned today,
For in the seeking, light shall find its way.
The measure that you give will come back round,
And in the silence, sacred truths abound.
In the realm of thoughts, where shadows play,
For whispers spoken in the dark of day.
What one hides deep will surely be revealed,
A light for the path where secret wounds are healed.
So let your light shine bright, without despair,
In giving, receiving, let love's warmth declare.
Embrace the journey, seek the knowledge vast,
That every heart can learn from every moment past. Amen.
