The Gospel of Mark Chapter 3 Verse 13 thru 19
13 He went up the mountain and summoned those whom he wanted and they came to him. 14 He appointed twelve [whom he also named apostles] that they might be with him and he might send them forth to preach 15 and to have authority to drive out demons: 16 [he appointed the twelve:] Simon, whom he named Peter; 17 James, son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, whom he named Boanerges, that is, sons of thunder;18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus; Thaddeus, Simon the Cananean, 19 and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him.
In Mark 3:13-19, we witness a pivotal moment in Jesus’ ministry, where He appoints twelve disciples to carry forth His mission. The passage begins with Jesus going up on a mountain, a symbol of elevation and divine purpose, where He calls those He desires to be His closest followers. This intentional selection underscores the importance of surrendering to God's will, echoing how Christ entrusts His message and authority to flawed yet willing individuals.
Each disciple represents a facet of our own spiritual journey; they were not perfect, but they were chosen. This choice reflects God's grace—He sees potential where we might see inadequacy. By surrendering to God’s will as these disciples did, we become participants in His divine plan. Just as they were appointed to preach the gospel and to drive out demons, so too are we called to share the Good News and confront the spiritual battles in our lives and the lives of others.
In essence, this passage invites us to recognize our own appointment by Christ. Through our faith in Him as our Savior, we step into a new role; we are empowered to spread the gospel's transformative message. We are equipped to confront darkness, not in our strength but through His. The authority given to the disciples is also extended to us as believers.
Let this truth resonate deeply: our surrender to Christ not only changes our lives but also opens the door to the extraordinary. When we yield to His will, we become vessels for His work—preaching hope, healing hearts, and driving out darkness. Embrace your calling and step boldly into the adventure of faith that lies ahead! Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Jesus Appointed His Twelve Disciples To Preach**
In the hills where silence reigns supreme,
He calls His chosen, the twelve to redeem,
From the shores of Galilee to the heart of the land,
Jesus names His apostles, united they stand.
Peter, the rock, with fervor aflame,
James and John, in thunder, they came,
Matthew and Philip, with hearts open wide,
Bartholomew, Thaddeus, by His side.
Each one a vessel, to carry His light,
To spread forth His word, to challenge the night,
With power to heal, to cast out the strife,
In the name of the Savior, they’ll offer new life.
From the call of the Master, their mission began,
A journey of faith in the ways of the Son of Man,
Men of the earth, with spirits so bold,
In the story of grace, their legacy unfolds. Amen.
