The Gospel of Luke Chapter 9 Verse 7 thru 9
7 Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was greatly perplexed because some were saying, “John has been raised from the dead”; 8 others were saying, “Elijah has appeared”; still others, “One of the ancient prophets has arisen.” 9 But Herod said, “John I beheaded. Who then is this about whom I hear such things?” And he kept trying to see Jesus.
In Luke 9:7-9, we encounter King Herod, who is deeply troubled by the rumors surrounding Jesus and His miraculous deeds. Hearing about Christ’s growing popularity, Herod is intrigued yet confused, asking, “Who is this man about whom I hear such things?” This moment highlights a universal quest for understanding and meaning that resonates with many of us today. Just as Herod sought to see Jesus amidst his chaos, so too are we drawn to seek Him in our lives.
Herod’s desire to witness Jesus is a reminder that when we hear about the transformative power of Christ, it sparks a deep longing within us. We are left wondering how this man can heal the broken, restore hope, and offer salvation. This desire goes beyond mere curiosity; it is a spiritual call to recognize our need for Christ in every facet of our existence.
Like Herod, we may find ourselves circling around questions of faith, seeking clarity in the miracles we witness—whether it’s in the beauty of creation or the love shared among others. This journey of seeking is essential, as it leads us to a personal encounter with Jesus, who reveals Himself as the source of true salvation.
Ultimately, our goal should be to not just ask about Jesus but to truly find Him. In doing so, we will discover the joy of worshipping Him forever, acknowledging His power and grace in our lives. Let us remember that once we hear about Jesus, it ignites a desire to see Him in every aspect of our being. As we pursue this relationship, we cultivate a heart of worship, destined to praise Him for all eternity. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**He Kept Trying to See Jesus**
In shadows deep, King Herod stands,
With whispers of a man so divinely grand,
He hears of wonders, miracles told,
A quest for truth, a heart to behold.
"Who is this Jesus?" the king's mind churns,
As rumors swell, his spirit yearns,
To catch a glimpse of the Savior's face,
In every moment, he seeks God’s grace.
Oh, seek Him too, in life’s grand stage,
For in His presence, we turn the page,
Discover salvation, let your soul sing,
Worship forever, our hearts take wing. Amen.
