The Gospel of Luke Chapter 8 Verse Four thru Ten

4 When a large crowd gathered, with people from one town after another journeying to him, he spoke in a parable. 5 “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path and was trampled, and the birds of the sky ate it up. 6 Some seed fell on rocky ground, and when it grew, it withered for lack of moisture. 7 Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it. 8 And some seed fell on good soil, and when it grew, it produced fruit a hundredfold.” After saying this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear.” 9 Then his disciples asked him what the meaning of this parable might be. 10 He answered, “Knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been granted to you; but to the rest, they are made known through parables so that ‘they may look but not see and hear but not understand.’

In Luke 8:4-10, Jesus presents the Parable of the Sower, a compelling illustration that reveals profound truths about the Kingdom of God and the diverse responses to His message. As Jesus speaks to a great crowd, He describes a sower who scatters seeds—some falling on the path, some on rocky ground, some among thorns, and some on good soil. Each scenario illustrates the varying receptiveness of individuals to the Word of God. The disciples, struggling to understand His teachings, inquire about the meaning behind the parable, leading Jesus to explain that the secret of the Kingdom is granted to those who genuinely seek Him.

This passage serves as a poignant reminder that while parables invite all to listen, their deeper meanings remain obscured to the spiritually blind—those unwilling to surrender their hearts to God's will. The seed that falls on good soil symbolizes those who embrace the message, allow it to take root, and produce a bountiful harvest. This harvest represents the transformative power of faith, borne out of a surrendered life, fully aligned with Christ’s teachings.

Conversely, those who harden their hearts, distracted by worldly cares or shallow understandings, will miss the richness of God’s revelations. Therefore, it is imperative for believers to approach Scripture with an open spirit, ready to yield everything in pursuit of His will. The depth of understanding found in these parables is a gift given to those who truly desire to follow Christ wholeheartedly.

May we be among those who recognize the call to deep surrender, pressing into His Word so that we too may cultivate good soil in our hearts, reaping the immense blessings of His Kingdom. Remember, this is where we practice pray and proclaim what it means to be spirit lead. God inspired Christ fed. Amen. This is practice your Bible every single day. At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. Ephesians 6:17-20

09-20-2025 Luke 8 v0410

**They May Look But Not See**

In fields of heart where seeds are cast,

A sower's hand spreads wide and free,

With whispers soft, the truth steadfast,

Yet eyes are veiled that long to see.

Some fall on paths where footsteps tread,

With hardened soil that will not yield,

The birds of doubt claim every shred,

And hopes are lost upon the field.

On rocky ground, the sprouts may rise,

But roots are shallow, strength soon wanes,

When trials come, their faith, like sighs,

Withers beneath the summer's pains.

Among the thorns, distractions creep,

The cares of life, both sharp and sly,

They choke the blooms; our spirits weep,

As voices fade and dreams comply.

Yet good soil waits for hearts to break,

To tenderly embrace His will,

To listen close, the path to take,

And yield a harvest, rich and still. Amen.
