The Gospel of Luke Chapter 17 Verse 26 thru 37
26 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man; 27 they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot: they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building; 29 on the day when Lot left Sodom, fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all. 30 So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day, a person who is on the housetop and whose belongings are in the house must not go down to get them, and likewise a person in the field must not return to what was left behind. 32 Remember the wife of Lot. 33 Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it. 34 I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken, the other left. 35 And there will be two women grinding meal together; one will be taken, the other left.” [36] 37 They said to him in reply, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will gather.”
In Luke 17:26-37, Jesus draws an emotional parallel between the days of Noah and the time of His coming. He emphasizes the suddenness of divine judgment and the necessity of preparedness. Just as the people in Noah's time were consumed by their daily lives—eating, drinking, marrying, and engaging in routine activities—many today remain oblivious to the urgent call of Christ. This passage serves as a sobering reminder that we must be vigilant and ready for the imminent return of our Savior.
Jesus warns that when He comes, some will be taken, and others will be left behind. This separation is not just a physical one but a spiritual awakening. Those who are faithful, surrendering their lives to Christ, will be swept into Heaven, freed from the tribulations of a world entrenched in evil. Conversely, those who reject His call will face the wrath that follows their obstinance. The urgency of this message is clear: there is no time for complacency or distraction.
As we navigate our daily lives, we must remain ever aware that Christ can return at any moment. The world's trials and tribulations will test our faith, but surrendering to Christ offers us hope and salvation. Let us not be like the unprepared souls of Noah's time, caught unaware and left to suffer the consequences of their choices. Instead, let us be alert and ready, living lives that reflect our faith in Him, so that we may rejoice when He calls us home. May we heed this warning with the seriousness it deserves, understanding that our relationship with Christ determines our eternal destiny. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day 6 for the repose of the Soul of Edgar Bruce. RIP In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
11-14-2025 Luke 17 v2637
**Whoever Loses His Life Will Save It**
In days of old, when earth knew no fear,
And whispers of heavens fell on deaf ears,
Life danced in its rhythms, blind to the call,
As men sowed their harvest, forgetting the fall.
From Noah’s firm ark the raindrops would pour,
While laughter rang out, all blissful and sure,
They feasted, they married, with hearts unrestrained,
Till the heavens broke open, and joy was refrained.
In Sodom and Gomorrah, cities ablaze,
With sin as their banner, lost in the haze,
They lived in excess, with heads held so high,
But the fire soon fell, and their fate sealed in sighs.
Remember those days, the warnings they spurned,
When grace was extended, yet none ever turned.
For as in the days when the fiery rain fell,
So too will it come, as foretold before Hell.
One will be taken, another will stay,
In a moment, a heartbeat, the world slips away.
Where there's smoke, there's a whisper, a stirring, a scene—
The end and the beginning, the lost and obscene.
Awake! O you watchers, keep eyes on the skies,
For the Son of Man comes, with justice and cries.
He heralds the truth, like thunder it rolls,
To the faithful He gathers, to the wayward, no tolls.
So plant your roots steady; let wisdom be near,
In the days that we wander, let holiness steer.
For the days of our lives are but fleeting, it’s clear,
In the shadow of His coming, let our hearts persevere. Amen.
