The Gospel of Luke Chapter 12 Verses 35 thru 40

35 “Gird your loins and light your lamps 36 and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them. 38 And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants. 39 Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour when the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40 You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.”

In Luke 12:35-40, Jesus emphasizes the importance of vigilance and preparedness in our spiritual lives. He urges us to keep our lamps burning, symbolizing the readiness of our hearts and souls for His return. This passage serves as a stark reminder that life is fleeting, and we must always be prepared to meet our Maker. The call to be ready is not merely a suggestion; it is a divine imperative that shapes how we live each day.

Living a life surrendered to God’s Holy Will means aligning our desires and actions with His purpose for us. His Holy Will is rooted in love, grace, and righteousness. It calls us to love our neighbors, serve the marginalized, and seek justice in our communities. It invites us to cultivate a spirit of compassion and mercy, reflecting Christ’s love to those around us. In our daily interactions, His Holy Will encourages honesty, humility, and a commitment to live in faith, trusting in God’s plan even when we don’t see the full picture.

To be prepared means actively engaging in our spiritual growth—through prayer, reading Scripture, and participating in the life of the Church. Our readiness is demonstrated not just in occasional acts of righteousness but in a consistent, surrendered lifestyle that echoes our faith in every aspect. As we await Christ’s return, let us not be complacent but watchful and ready, embracing the transformative power of His Holy Will in our lives.

Ultimately, Luke 12:35-40 calls us to a deeper relationship with God, emphasizing that our preparation is rooted in a life committed to following Christ wholeheartedly. May we always live in a state of readiness, surrendering to His will each day. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**You Also Must Be Prepared**

In twilight’s glow, the lamps we raise,

With steadfast hearts, we seek His ways.

A call to watch, a call to be,

In faith and hope, we long to see.

The Lord, He comes like thief at night,

So keep your souls in purest light.

With garments on, our spirits free,

In service true, we strive to be.

His Holy Will, our guiding star,

In love and grace, we venture far.

To live in kindness, share His grace,

Reflecting Christ in every place.

Awake, arise, for time is brief,

Embrace His love, dispel your grief.

In each small act, His kingdom grows,

In every heart, His presence flows.

So let us stand, our eyes on high,

With watchful hearts, we need not sigh.

For when He calls, we’ll boldly meet,

In Him, our lives are now complete. Amen.
