The Gospel of Luke Chapter 11 Verse One thru Four

1 He was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them, “When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our daily bread 4 and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test.”

In Luke 11:1-4, we find the disciples seeking guidance on how to pray. They approach Jesus, recognizing the significance of communication with God in their lives. In this passage, Jesus responds with what we now know as the Lord's Prayer, a model that emphasizes the essence of prayer as both an act of worship and a means of expressing our dependence on God.

At its core, prayer is an acknowledgment of God's sovereignty and holiness. When we pray, we honor God by recognizing His position as our Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer. Jesus begins the prayer with a powerful invocation—"Father, hallowed be your name." This opening line reminds us that our relationship with God is deeply personal and sacred. By honoring His name, we are reminded of His greatness and our need to submit to His will in all things.

The prayer continues with petitions that encompass the entirety of our lives: seeking God's kingdom, asking for daily provision, requesting forgiveness, and desiring deliverance from temptation. Each element highlights the importance of bringing every aspect of our lives before God. This is not just about significant events or profound requests; it is about inviting God into the mundane, everyday moments of our existence.

God desires us to pray over everything we do—our work, relationships, and challenges. When we seek His guidance, we align ourselves with His plans and purposes. Thus, prayer becomes an act of honoring God, recognizing that He is intricately involved in every detail of our lives.

As we cultivate a habit of prayer, may we remember that it is a continual act of reverence and dependence on God. Let us pray without ceasing, inviting Him into all things. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Day five Novena prayers of Kayley. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

10-08-2025 Luke 11 v0104

**Lord Teach Us To Pray**

In quiet moments, hearts awake,

The Twelve approach, their voices shake,

“Teach us to pray,” their humble plea,

A path to God, a soul set free.

“Father on high, Your name we raise,

In reverence deep, our voices praise,

May Your kingdom come, Your will be done,

On earth, as in heaven, united as one.”

For daily bread, we seek Your grace,

Sustain our lives in this sacred space,

Forgive our debts, as we forgive,

In this holy dance, together we live.

And lead us not to trials so deep,

But guide our hearts, Your love we keep,

In prayer, we honor, in faith we stand,

With open hearts, we seek Your hand. Amen.
