The Gospel of Luke Chapter One Verse 57 Thru 66

57 When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child she gave birth to a son. 58 Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her. 59 When they came on the eighth day to circumcise the child, they were going to call him Zechariah after his father, 60 but his mother said in reply, “No. He will be called John.” 61 But they answered her, “There is no one among your relatives who has this name.” 62 So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called. 63 He asked for a tablet and wrote, “John is his name,” and all were amazed. 64 Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed, and he spoke blessing God. 65 Then fear came upon all their neighbors, and all these matters were discussed throughout the hill country of Judea. 66 All who heard these things took them to heart, saying, “What, then, will this child be?” For surely the hand of the Lord was with him.

In Luke 1:57-66, we witness a profound moment in the life of Zechariah and Elizabeth, as they experience the joyful birth of their son, John the Baptist. This event is not only significant in its right but serves as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and the fulfillment of His promises. When Elizabeth gives birth, her community rejoices, and the extraordinary event stirs amazement among those around her. The miraculous nature of John's conception and birth—occurring to elderly parents after years of barrenness—reveals the wonder of God’s intervention in human circumstances.

What stands out in these verses is the quiet yet powerful assurance that God's hand is upon us. Just as the Lord marked John’s life with purpose and significance, we too can seek the “Ahmad” or pleasure of the Lord in our lives. By immersing ourselves in Scripture daily, we open our hearts to receive His wisdom and guidance. Prayer becomes a lifeline, a means to communicate with our Creator, bringing our lives and concerns before Him. As we pray unceasingly over everything we do, we align our will with His, finding strength and clarity in the midst of life's uncertainties.

Moreover, let us boldly proclaim our faith, just as Zechariah did when he named his child John, despite societal expectations. In confidence, we can declare the goodness of God, relying solely on Him for our words and wisdom. Like John’s life was a testament to God’s might, our lives can also reflect His glory when we depend on Him. Let us strive each day to read His Word, pray without ceasing, and be confident in sharing His truth with others. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

**What Then Will This Child Be; John the Baptist**

In quiet towns where whispers blend,

A promise kept as ages bend,

Zacharias, with hope so bright,

Awaits the dawn of his delight.

For Elizabeth, of grace so rare,

A child within, they both would share,

In barren years, their faith was tried,

Yet now the joy could not be denied.

When time was ripe, the hour came,

A son announced, and joy reclaimed.

The neighbors gathered, hearts aglow,

To celebrate what heaven chose.

“With joy!” they cried, “his name shall be,”

But Zacharias, silent, “No, just see,

He’ll bear the name of John, it’s true!”

A name of grace, a life anew.

Their murmurs fell, as doubts took flight,

“Why John?” they wondered, lost in night,

Then, lo! a voice, once bound, now free,

Zacharias sang his prophecy.

With tongue unsealed and heart ablaze,

He lifted praises in steadfast grace;

For John would be the herald bold,

To prepare the way, the truth unfold.

In humble joy, they marveled near,

At all that's come, and all that's clear,

In whispered awe, the stories weave,

A child named John, in faith believe.

So let us see in shadows bright,

The hope that births into the light,

For every promise, every sign,

We find our voice, our hearts entwined. Amen.
