The Letter to the Hebrews Chapter 3 V- 7 through 14
7 Therefore, as the holy Spirit says: “Oh, that today you would hear his voice, 8 ‘Harden not your hearts as at the rebellion in the day of testing in the desert, 9 where your ancestors tested and tried me and saw my works 10 for forty years. Because of this I was provoked with that generation and I said, “They have always been of erring heart, and they do not know my ways.” 11 As I swore in my wrath, “They shall not enter into my rest.”’”12 Take care, brothers, that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart, so as to forsake the living God. 13 Encourage yourselves daily while it is still “today,” so that none of you may grow hardened by the deceit of sin. 14 We have become partners of Christ if only we hold the beginning of the reality firm until the end.
Hebrews 3:7-14 serves as an emotional reminder of the dangers posed by an unfaithful heart. The passage reflects on the Israelites' rebellion against God, warning us that such a hardened heart can emerge suddenly, often when we least expect it. The author urges us to listen to God's voice and not to harden our hearts as the Israelites did in the wilderness. This serves as a stark reminder that spiritual complacency can lead to a state of confusion and distance from God, leaving us vulnerable to sin.
In our daily lives, we must remain grounded in the Word of God. It is through consistent engagement with Scripture that we can fortify our faith and guard against the subtle encroachments of doubt and disobedience. Without this daily discipline, we risk allowing our hearts to drift, becoming susceptible to the lies and temptations that seek to derail us. The importance of confessing our sins regularly cannot be overstated; it is through confession that we acknowledge our need for God's grace and re-align our hearts with His will.
Finding true peace in Christ requires intentional effort. We are called to encourage one another, to build each other up in faith, and to remain steadfast in our commitment to God. As we do this, we become more aware of the grace that envelops us, which empowers us to live a life reflecting His love and truth. The journey may be fraught with challenges, but by staying anchored in the Word and fostering a spirit of humility and repentance, we can navigate the complexities of life with confidence and assurance. Let us strive to cultivate a faithful heart, ever reliant on the grace that flows from our relationship with Christ. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

**Take Care Not to Have an Evil and Unfaithful Heart**
In whispers soft, the Spirit calls,
A warning clear, as faith enthralls,
“Today, if you hear His voice so near,
Harden not your heart, cast aside your fear.”
Once in the wilderness, they strayed,
With hearts like stone, their trust delayed,
In doubt they wandered, lost in the night,
Turning from grace, forsaking the light.
For forty years, their journey long,
A tale of mercy, yet a heart gone wrong,
They tested His patience, they turned away,
Forgot the love that led them each day.
So let us heed this ancient plea,
To stay in His Word, to live faithfully,
Confess our sins, let grace renew,
In Christ’s embrace, find strength anew.
Each moment counts, our hearts must stay,
Rooted in truth, lest we drift away,
With every breath, let His peace flow,
A faithful heart is where love will grow.
Encourage each other, in trials stand tall,
For together in Him, we rise, not fall,
As long as it’s called “Today,” we strive,
In the light of His grace, forever alive.
So let us not waver, but run the race,
Holding fast to hope, in His warm embrace,
For we are His people, His chosen, His friends,
In the promise of grace, our journey transcends. Amen.
