The Book of Judges Ch 13 Verse Two Thru Seven & 24-25a

2 There was a certain man from Zorah, of the clan of the Danites, whose name was Manoah. His wife was barren and had borne no children. 3 An angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her: Though you are barren and have had no children, you will conceive and bear a son. 4 Now, then, be careful to drink no wine or beer and to eat nothing unclean, 5 for you will conceive and bear a son. No razor shall touch his head, for the boy is to be a Nazirite for God from the womb. It is he who will begin to save Israel from the power of the Philistines. 6 The woman went and told her husband, “A man of God came to me; he had the appearance of an angel of God, fearsome indeed. I did not ask him where he came from, nor did he tell me his name. 7 But he said to me, ‘You will conceive and bear a son. So drink no wine or beer, and eat nothing unclean. For the boy shall be a Nazirite for God from the womb, until the day of his death.’”24 The woman bore a son and named him Samson, and when the boy grew up the LORD blessed him. 25 The spirit of the LORD came upon him.

In Judges 13:2-7 and 24-25, we encounter the remarkable story of Manoah and his wife, who are visited by an angel announcing the birth of their son, Samson. This son is destined to be a Nazirite, a designation defined in Numbers 6:1-21, where individuals dedicate themselves to the Lord through specific vows. Nazirites abstain from wine, avoid cutting their hair, and steer clear of any contact with the dead. These commitments symbolize purity and separation from worldly distractions, allowing for a clearer mind, body, and soul focused on God’s divine purpose.

The essence of the Nazirite vow emphasizes total dedication to God's will, illustrating the profound relationship between obedience and spiritual clarity. As seen in the lives of Nazirites like Samson, this devoted lifestyle enables one to rise above earthly concerns, illuminating the path for divine assignments. In a world filled with distractions, the Nazirite commitment exemplifies how abstaining from certain pleasures can clarify one's focus on fulfilling God’s intentions.

Verses 24-25 of Judges 13 confirm God’s blessing on Samson, stating that he grew and the Spirit of the Lord began to stir in him. This signifies that as one aligns with God's directives and engages with Scripture—understanding and implementing its teachings—their ability to perceive the divine will becomes sharper. Obedience rooted in Scripture cultivates spiritual growth and discernment, ultimately allowing individuals to act purposefully in accordance with God's plan.

In essence, the story of the Nazirites calls believers to reflection. Through intentional abstinence, faithful adherence to Scripture, and obedience, one can foster an environment where the Spirit of God can thrive, enabling the accomplishment of His will in all aspects of life. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

12-19-2025 Judges 13 v0207, 24-25a

**No Razor Shall Touch His Head**

In Zorah's hills, where shadows weave,

A woman named Manoah’s wife grieved.

Forsaken by despair, childless she stood,

Awaiting the promise, misunderstood.

An angel of light, from heaven did gleam,

With tidings of hope, a celestial dream.

“Fear not, you shall bear a child,

A Nazarite promised, a warrior undefiled.”

His strength shall save, from foes that beset,

But first, the covenant must be met.

No wine to drink, nor unclean food,

A holy calling, a path to be pursued.

Time passed like whispers on the breeze,

And soon she gave birth, her heart at ease.

A son, with a purpose woven so grand,

Strength born through faith, as the Lord had planned.

The Spirit of God began to ignite,

In young Samson, a beacon of light.

Between Zorah and Eshtaol, He stirred,

A judge, a savior, through Him, God's word.

In sacred silence, the promise unfolds,

In strength and in spirit, the story retold.

For in barren places, hope springs from within,

As the Lord shapes His people; a new life begins. Amen.
