The Gospel of Luke Chapter 19 V- 41 and 44
41 As he drew near, he saw the city and wept over it, 42 saying, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.43 For the days are coming upon you when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides. 44 They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”
In Luke 19:41-44, we find an emotional moment where Jesus, as He approaches Jerusalem, weeps over the city. His tears reveal a profound sorrow for the people who have failed to recognize the time of their visitation. Jesus longs for them to turn from their ways, to embrace repentance, and to discover the love, faith, and hope offered through His grace. This passage serves as a powerful reminder of His deep compassion and desire for our redemption.
Jesus’ lamentation is not just for Jerusalem; it extends to all of us. He weeps for those who remain distant from Him, who resist the call to live in the freedom of His grace. The sorrow He expresses highlights the consequences of rejecting the path of love and reconciliation. When we choose not to repent, we miss out on the transformative power of His grace that can heal our brokenness and restore our relationship with God.
In our own lives, we can often find ourselves caught in cycles of doubt, despair, and sin. Yet, Jesus invites us to break free from these chains through repentance. His tears remind us that He desires not our condemnation but our redemption. The invitation to live a redeemed life is a natural calling that comes from recognizing the depth of His love for us.
By embracing His grace, we find a source of hope and faith that empowers us to live differently. We are called to respond to His weeping with open hearts, to seek His forgiveness, and to accept the love He so freely offers. In doing so, we step into a life transformed—a life marked by joy, peace, and a deep connection with our Savior. Jesus weeps for you, not out of anger, but from a heart that longs for you to experience the fullness of His grace. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**If You Only Knew What Makes for Peace**
Upon the hill, the Savior stands,
With tearful eyes and outstretched hands,
He gazes down on Jerusalem’s plight,
A city lost, shrouded in dark nights.
“O, how I long to gather you near,
To cradle your hearts, to calm every fear,
Yet you have turned from the path of grace,
Ignoring My love, rejecting My face.
If only you knew the peace I bring,
The hope in the sorrow, the joy in the sting,
But the days of your sorrow, they come like a flood,
For you’ve turned away from the wellspring of love.
The stones will cry out, the walls will fall,
A reminder of grace, a heart’s desperate call,
In your refusal, the cost will be steep,
A shepherd who weeps, for His sheep do not weep.
Come, find redemption, embrace the embrace,
In the arms of His mercy, in the light of His grace,
For though He weeps for the hearts that are cold,
His love still beckons, His story unfolds.
So heed the call of the One who weeps,
For in His compassion, our salvation leaps,
In repentance, we rise, by His grace we are healed,
A life transformed, our hearts unsealed. Amen.
