The Prophet Isaiah Chapter 42 Verse 1 thru 7
1 Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one with whom I am pleased. Upon him I have put my spirit; he shall bring forth justice to the nations. 2 He will not cry out, nor shout, nor make his voice heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench. He will faithfully bring forth justice. 4 He will not grow dim or be bruised until he establishes justice on the earth; the coastlands will wait for his teaching. 5 Thus says God, the LORD, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and its produce, Who gives breath to its people and spirit to those who walk on it: 6 I, the LORD, have called you for justice, I have grasped you by the hand; I formed you, and set you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations, 7 To open the eyes of the blind, to bring out prisoners from confinement, and from the dungeon, those who live in darkness.
Isaiah 42:1-7 presents a prophetic vision of a servant who embodies God's righteousness and will bring hope to the nations. The passage opens with God declaring His chosen servant, whom He upholds and in whom His Spirit dwells. This introduces a theme of divine anointing and purpose, emphasizing that the servant is not an ordinary figure but divinely appointed to fulfill God's redemptive mission.
The servant is characterized by gentleness and justice, as highlighted in verse 3, where it states he will not "break a bruised reed" or "snuff out a smoldering wick." This imagery reflects the servant's compassionate nature and His commitment to nurturing the fragile and the vulnerable. His mission transcends ethnic and cultural boundaries, proclaiming justice to the nations—a clear foreshadowing of the global impact of His ministry.
Verses 6 and 7 further expound this mission: the servant is appointed as a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles. He comes not only to restore Israel but also to open the eyes of the blind and set the captives free, demonstrating God's unwavering commitment to humanity's salvation.
As Christians, we understand this servant to be Jesus Christ, the ultimate fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus embodies the righteousness and justice that Isaiah foretold. He extends salvation to all, inviting people from every background to partake in the new covenant of grace. Thus, we celebrate that Jesus is not just a historical figure but the Savior of all, illuminating our path and bringing hope to a broken world. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Happy Birthday Dad, 90 in Heaven. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**I Formed You Set You As A Covenant**
Behold My servant, chosen with care,
In whom My Spirit finds delight to share;
He'll bring forth justice to the nations,
In humility, he'll spark a revelation.
Not in loud outcry, nor in bitter strife,
He'll softly speak and breathe new life;
The bruised and broken he will heal,
With tender mercy, His strength revealed.
He won't grow weary; He won't lose heart,
Until the truth around Him imparts,
A shining light to the darkened land,
Guiding all with His gentle hand.
He calls to the blind, the lost to see,
To set the captives in chains free;
In Him, the hope of all is found,
A promise of love, spreading all around.
Let the nations wait and draw near to Him,
For in His grace, their doubts grow dim;
A new day dawns, with visions bright,
In the Servant’s heart, we find our light. Amen.
