The 1st Letter to the Corinthians 13 Verses 1 thru 13
1 If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. 2 And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.4 Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated, 5 it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, 6 it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing. 9 For we know partially and we prophesy partially, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.12 At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known. 13 So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 is often referred to as the "Love Chapter," and for good reason. Its powerful words echo the essence of love in a world that desperately craves genuine connection and understanding. This passage reminds us that no matter our talents, knowledge, or spiritual gifts, without love, our actions are empty and meaningless. As I reflect on these verses, I am reminded that love is the ultimate force that binds us together and gives our lives purpose, which also helps ourselves and others how to deal with sickness, spite and sin.
The Apostle Paul eloquently expresses that love is patient and kind, devoid of envy or pride. This type of love extends grace and forgiveness to others, even to those who have wronged us. Real forgiveness, as depicted in this scripture, is rooted in the deep, abiding love that Jesus exemplifies. It’s a love that bridges divide, heals wounds, and uplifts the downtrodden. When we embody this love, we find strength to forgive others and ourselves, paving the way for transformation and renewal.
Jesus is the embodiment of this love—the love that heals, honors, and helps those who are caught in sin. He calls us to reflect this love in our own lives, urging us to reach out to those in need with compassion rather than judgment. In a world rife with pain and division, let us be vessels of this divine love, for it is through loving others that we truly live.
As I hold this passage close to my heart, I am reminded that without love, we wither spiritually. Let us strive to be conduits of Christ’s love, offering healing and hope. Such as, the example my wife and I both give to others. Recently, my wife saw a friend and his wife whose wife was diagnosed with ALS. Toni prayed for them and her and her husband sent me a text stating how much he appreciated her gesture and that it was his closest moment to God this week. This is what love is all about; prayer in Jesus Name. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**I Am Nothing Without Love**
In whispers soft as evening light,
A truth resounds, profound and bright,
Though tongues of angels speak in song,
Without love's fire, they’re but a nosy gong.
Knowledge vast, like ocean’s depth,
Faith that can move the mountains’ heft,
Yet without love, they fade away,
A fleeting dream at break of day.
Love is patient, tender and kind,
In every heart, the light it finds.
It bears no envy, boasts no pride,
In love’s embrace, our hearts abide.
It’s not easily angered, holds no score,
Forgiveness flows, like waves on a shore.
Rejoicing in truth, it shines so clear,
In love’s sweet presence, there is no fear.
For now we see through a foggy glass,
But love endures, it will never pass.
These gifts, they fade, as years unfold,
But love remains, a treasure untold.
So let us strive, with every breath,
To walk in love, through life and death.
For in this dance, when all is done,
Love is the thread that binds us as one. Amen.
