The Letter to the Hebrews Chapter 4 V- One and Two
1 Therefore, let us be on our guard while the promise of entering into his rest remains, that none of you seem to have failed. 2 For in fact we have received the good news just as they did. But the word that they heard did not profit them, for they were not united in faith with those who listened.
Hebrews 4:1-2 serves as a touching reminder of the importance of faith and obedience in our walk with God. The author warns us that, while the promise of rest remains, it is not merely a matter of hearing the message but actively believing and responding to it. This scripture invites us to honor God’s promise by placing Him first in every aspect of our lives. When we prioritize God in our decisions, we open ourselves to His guidance and wisdom, leading us to fulfillment.
In moments of offense, it can be all too easy to react in anger or frustration. However, Hebrews encourages us to call on God first. When someone slanders your good name or spreads gossip, instead of retaliating, turn to God in prayer. Seek His counsel and let His peace guide your response. By doing so, you align yourself with His righteousness and avoid the pitfalls of human emotion.
Every situation we encounter is an opportunity to reflect God's love and grace. Therefore, before you speak or act, take a moment to invite God into the conversation. Ask Him for clarity and wisdom. Speak to God before you respond to hurtful words or actions, and He will lead you down the right path.
When we place God at the forefront of our decisions, we not only honor His promises but also find true fulfillment in our lives. Let us strive to embody this principle, ensuring that our actions align with His will. Remember, God is always ready to guide you—just call on Him first. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. **Take Care Not to Have an Evil and Unfaithful Heart **
In echoes of a promise, our hearts take flight,
A call to trust, to seek the light,
For those who hear, yet do not believe,
In faith's embrace, we must receive.
When shadows loom and tempests rise,
In anger's grip, we often disguise,
But turning first to God above,
We find our strength, we find His love.
So let us walk with hearts aligned,
With every choice, His peace we’ll find,
In trials faced, His grace will show,
In honoring God First His promise, we truly grow. Amen.
