The Letter to the Hebrews Chapter 2 V- 5 through 13
5 For it was not to angels that he subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking. 6 Instead, someone has testified somewhere: “What is man that you are mindful of him, or the son of man that you care for him? 7 You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor, 8 subjecting all things under his feet.” In “subjecting” all things [to him], he left nothing not “subject to him.” Yet at present we do not see “all things subject to him,” 9 but we do see Jesus “crowned with glory and honor” because he suffered death, he who “for a little while” was made “lower than the angels,” that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. 10 For it was fitting that he, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many children to glory, should make the leader to their salvation perfect through suffering. 11 He who consecrates and those who are being consecrated all have one origin. Therefore, he is not ashamed to call them “brothers,” 12 saying: “I will proclaim your name to my brothers, in the midst of the assembly I will praise you”; 13 and again: “I will put my trust in him”; and again: “Behold, I and the children God has given me.”
Hebrews 2:5-13 presents a profound reflection on the supremacy of Christ and His role in God's redemptive plan. In these verses, the author emphasizes that while the world to come is not subjected to angels, it is indeed Christ who reigns supreme. The passage reminds us that Jesus, through His suffering, has been exalted and crowned with glory and honor, fulfilling the divine purpose set before Him.
The verses draw from Psalm 8, highlighting the dignity of humanity and the responsibility bestowed upon us. Yet, it is through Christ's obedience and sacrifice that this destiny is fully realized. His suffering was not in vain; it served as the pathway to our salvation and reconciliation with God. The text reassures us that everything is subject to Christ's intervention, affirming His sovereignty over all creation.
The suffering of Christ, which He willingly endured, was rewarded by His Heavenly Father. Through His resurrection and ascension, Jesus has triumphed over sin and death, opening the door for all who believe to share in His glory. This is a powerful reminder that our struggles and trials are not without purpose. Just as Christ's suffering led to glory, so too can our afflictions lead us closer to Him.
As we reflect on these verses, let us be encouraged by the truth that Christ is at the center of God's plan. In our moments of despair or difficulty, we can trust that everything is under His control. His intervention is always near, and He invites us to rely on His strength. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Ephesians 6:17-20
01-15-2025 Hebrews 2 v0513
**He is not ashamed to call us Brothers**
In ages past, the angels soared,
Yet not to them, the world restored.
For it was Christ, in humble guise,
Who bore our griefs, our pain, our sighs.
He walked the earth, in flesh and bone,
In suffering deep, our sins atoned.
Crowned with glory, honor bestowed,
Through trials faced, His love overflowed.
"O what is man?" the Psalmist sings,
That God should care for mortal things?
Yet in His grace, we find our place,
In Christ, we see the Father's face.
For every tear that fell in night,
He brings the dawn, He is our light.
The path of sorrow, He has tread,
To lead us forth, where hope is spread.
Rejoice, for everything is His,
He reigns in power, our Savior lives.
In every challenge, every fear,
His presence whispers, "I am near."
So let us trust and boldly stand,
With hearts uplifted, hand in hand.
For in our weakness, strength is found,
In Christ alone, our lives abound.
Through Him, we rise, no more to roam,
For in His love, we find our eternal home.
Amen, we sing, our voices raise,
To Him who guides us all our days. Amen.
