The Gospel of John Chapter 10 Verses 24 thru 30
24 So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” 25 Jesus answered them, “I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify to me. 26 But you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. 30 The Father and I are one.”
In John 10:24-30, we encounter a profound declaration of Jesus as the Good Shepherd. The passage opens with a challenge from the Jews, who demand clarity about His identity. Jesus responds not just with words but with the powerful testimony of His works and His intimate relationship with the Father. He states, “I and the Father are one,” emphasizing the divine unity and authority bestowed upon Him. This relationship reassures us of His guidance, protection, and love.
Today marks Good Shepherd Sunday, a time when we reflect on Christ's nurturing and sacrificial love for His flock. In this season of reflection and prayer, we are reminded of the calling every Christian has to follow the voice of the Good Shepherd. He leads us towards green pastures and still waters, offering peace and salvation. On this Sunday, we also find ourselves at a significant moment in the Church's history, as we anticipate the election of a new Pope, Leo XIV. The timing is not merely coincidental but underscored by God's providential plan.
As we await to learn more by this selection of our new leader, let us pray for God’s Holy Will to be fulfilled. The Good Shepherd knows our needs and will guide His Church through these transitions. May the new Pope, inspired by the voice of Christ, lead us with the same love and compassion that Jesus exemplified. Together, let us remain steadfast in faith, trusting that, like the Good Shepherd, our new leader will protect, unite, and strengthen the flock; Holy Mother Church! Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Kairos prison ministry day nine. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**The Father and I are One**
In shadows deep, they sought to find,
The truth of Him who boldly spoke,
“Reveal Your heart, Your will, Your mind,
Are You the Christ?” their questions woke.
Yet in His gaze, pure love did shine,
The shepherd’s voice, our souls entwine.
With gentle words, He shared the way,
His life laid down, our debts He bore,
“Believe the works,” He beckoned, sway,
For in His heart, our hope restores.
The Father’s love, through Him it flows,
A bond of grace the world still knows.
“I and the Father are as one,”
A whisper soft, in night’s embrace,
Through every storm, beneath the sun,
Lies safety found in His warm grace.
For all who hear, He calls our name,
In Him, we rise, forever the same.
On Good Shepherd Sunday, hearts align,
In prayerful trust, we seek His face,
As we await the Pope divine,
To lead us with compassion’s grace.
Through trials fierce and joys anew,
His love sustains all, strong and true.
So let us follow, hand in hand,
Unwavering faith, our spirits soar,
With shepherd’s care, through every land,
His voice will guide, our hearts explore.
In unity, we find our peace,
As one in Him, our joy’s increase. Amen.
