The Book of Sirach Ch 21 v- 19 thru 20
19 To the senseless, education is fetters on the feet, like manacles on the right hand. 20 Fools raise their voice in laughter, but the prudent at most smile quietly.
Fools seem to raise their voice in laughter, seeking attention and validation from others. They are easily swayed by the superficial and the frivolous, finding joy in the momentary pleasures of life without seeking deeper meaning, understanding or growth. On the other hand, the prudent smile quietly, choosing to listen and observe rather than speak out impulsively. They understand the value of wisdom and knowledge, realizing that true progress comes from learning and reflection.
For the senseless, education is seen as a burden, a constraint that limits their freedom and creativity. They see it as a set of rules and restrictions that prevent them from living life to the fullest. But for the prudent, education is a tool for liberation, a pathway to enlightenment and self-improvement. The prudent know that true wisdom comes from quiet contemplation and thoughtful reflection. They understand that the journey to knowledge is a personal one, requiring patience, perseverance, and humility. And so they choose to smile quietly, soaking up the wisdom that surrounds them, knowing that true enlightenment comes not from loud laughter, but from silent understanding.
Let us silently listen to this Haiku for today and reflect on Christ as our Savior. Remember we are in Lent and we all should be searching for enlightenment while performing extra ordinary acts of goodwill, learning more about the freedom of Jesus and fasting t0 encounter the Lord in your desires to be Holy. Here’s a Haiku about how the prudent know silent understanding in learning always willing to discover new things in Charity for the Sake of Salvation but the senseless laugh too loud not willing to learn but stay stagnant in sin. Enjoy!
Fools Laugh Prudent Smile
Silent wisdom blooms
Prudent hearts seek understanding
Senseless laughter fades
Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Senseless people seem shackled
Feet fetters that prevent learning
Laughter’s voice raised by fool’s cackle
Quietly smiling is the most prudent yearning
