The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 17 V- 10 through 12
10 Then the disciples asked him, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” 11 He said in reply, “Elijah will indeed come and restore all things; 12 but I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him but did to him whatever they pleased. So also will the Son of Man suffer at their hands.”
In Matthew 17:10-12, the disciples question Jesus about Elijah's anticipated return. Jesus responds affirmatively, stating, "Elijah will indeed come and restore all things." This statement highlights the profound role Elijah plays in the prophetic narrative of the Old Testament. Elijah, a key figure representing prophetic authority, symbolizes the restoration of God’s covenant with His people. His return is seen as a precursor to the coming of the Messiah, heralding a time when God's kingdom will be fully realized.
When Jesus refers to Elijah restoring all things, He emphasizes the transformative power of God's intervention in the world. This restoration is not merely about physical or social changes; it encompasses a deeper healing of the soul and spirit. It invites believers to reflect on their own lives and the ways they can experience this renewal through faith. Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of the prophecies associated with Elijah, bringing about a spiritual restoration that transcends the physical realm.
As we contemplate this message, it becomes clear that Jesus offers restoration to each of us personally. By surrendering our lives to His will, we can experience profound healing and redemption. This act of surrender is not a loss of control, but an invitation to embrace a life lived in forgiveness and grace. When we acknowledge our need for Him and accept His redemptive love, we are transformed from the inside out.
In essence, the promise of restoration is not just for the world but for every individual soul. Jesus invites you to lay down your burdens, embrace His forgiveness, and experience the renewal He offers. In doing so, we find true peace and purpose, living as testimonies of His redeeming love. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Elijah Will Restore All Things**
In the shadowed heights of the mount so high,
The disciples asked, with wonder in their eye,
“Why do the scribes say Elijah must appear,
Before the Messiah, to wipe every tear?”
Jesus replied with wisdom profound,
“Indeed, Elijah’s coming; his voice will resound.
He’ll restore all things, make the broken whole,
A herald of hope, for the weary soul.”
For in Elijah’s return, a promise unfolds,
A glimpse of redemption, a story retold.
The heart of the covenant, the love that won’t cease,
A call to the lost, an invitation to peace.
Yet Jesus, the Savior, stands there in grace,
The true restoration, in Him we find no waste.
Through surrender and faith, our burdens He bears,
In the arms of forgiveness, He answers our prayers.
So let us embrace this gift of His love,
As Elijah’s return points us upward above.
For in every struggle and trial we face,
Jesus restores our souls, wrapping us in grace. Amen.
