The Letter to the Philippians 2 V- 13 and 16

13 For God is the one who, for his good purpose, works in you both to desire and to work. 14 Do everything without grumbling or questioning, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine like lights in the world,16 as you hold on to the word of life, so that my boast for the day of Christ may be that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

Philippians 2:13-16 states, "For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.' Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life." This passage emphasizes the importance of serving with a spirit of joy and commitment, reflecting God’s purpose in our lives.

On Veterans Day, we honor those who have selflessly dedicated their lives to protecting their country, embodying the essence of this scripture. Consider the life of a veteran who approaches their service without grumbling. This individual understands that their commitment is not merely a duty but a privilege. They uphold the values of respect and honor, recognizing that their sacrifices contribute to the freedoms enjoyed by all citizens.

Much like the principles outlined in Philippians, a veteran's service is marked by a willingness to embrace challenges and hardships without complaint. Their decision to serve stems from a profound sense of responsibility, driven by the desire to give back for the freedoms they cherish. Instead of focusing on the difficulties of deployment or the sacrifices made, they choose to see their role as an opportunity to shine brightly in a world often overshadowed by negativity.

In doing so, they fulfill a greater purpose, embodying the spirit of unity and resilience. As they hold firm to their commitment, they become beacons of hope and inspiration, reminding us all of the importance of serving with a heart free from grumbling, especially on a day dedicated to honoring their sacrifices.

When I joined the Navy in January of 1983, I made a profound commitment to serve my country honorably until 1989. This journey became a test of my resilience and strength, particularly as I faced the trauma of a life-altering experience early in my career. The pain and shame I carried for years felt insurmountable, but it was through my eventual surrender to Jesus Christ that I found true healing. Embracing my faith allowed me to confront the darkness of my past, transforming my shame into a testimony of survival and strength.

By saying yes to Salvation, I not only reclaimed my life but also discovered a purpose that transcended my military service. Today, I give all the glory to God for guiding me through my struggles and for the renewed sense of hope and peace I have found in Him. My commitment to my country was not just about serving in the Navy; it became intertwined with a deeper mission of healing and sharing my story, inspiring others to find light in their own darkness. Happy Veteran’s Day! Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

11-11-2024 Philippians 2 V-1316

**Do Everything Without Grumbling**

In hearts where love and purpose dwell,

God stirs our spirits, this we tell,

With strength divine, He guides our way,

To serve with joy, come what may.

Do all without a grumble’s sound,

In humble grace, let peace abound,

For in a world so lost and dark,

We are the light, we bear the spark.

As stars that twinkle in the night,

We shine amidst the shadows' plight,

Children of God, pure and free,

Reflecting His love for all to see.

So hold the word, our guiding light,

Through trials faced, we stand upright,

With every act, let kindness flow,

In unity, let His glory show.

For it is He who works in us,

Transforming lives, igniting trust,

With hearts aligned, we take our stand,

Together, we fulfill His plan.

In service true, with love we rise,

To shine like stars in endless skies,

For every deed done in His name,

Brings hope and joy, ignites His flame. Amen.
