The Gospel of Luke Chapter 7 Verse 31 thru 35

31 “Then to what shall I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, ‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance. We sang a dirge, but you did not weep.’ 33 For John the Baptist came neither eating food nor drinking wine, and you said, ‘He is possessed by a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking and you said, ‘Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ 35 But wisdom is vindicated by all her children.”

In Luke 7:31-35, Jesus speaks to the crowd about the challenges of understanding and accepting God's message, comparing the people of His time to children who complain about the behavior of their peers. This passage highlights the rejection faced by both John the Baptist and Jesus themselves—a agonizing reminder of how those who carry God's message often encounter skepticism and disdain.

Jesus describes how John came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and people criticized him for being too strict. In contrast, Jesus engaged more freely with society, even attending feasts and celebrations, yet He too was condemned, labeled a glutton and a drunkard. Through this, Jesus emphasizes the profound truth that wisdom is justified by all her children.

As we reflect on this passage on the seventh day of our Novena for the repose of Charlie Kirk's soul, we are reminded of the sacrifice and dedication that individuals like Charlie demonstrate in their commitment to the movement of Christ. His life exemplified the call to speak out boldly in the face of opposition, much like John and Jesus did. While Charlie may have faced criticism and misunderstanding, his dedication to the truth and the principles of faith will not be forgotten.

In this time of prayer, we honor the legacy of those who stand firm in their beliefs, enduring hardship for the sake of the Gospel. May our prayers continue to elevate Charlie’s soul, and may we find inspiration in his example to also navigate difficult paths, holding fast to the wisdom that God provides. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

09-17-2025 Luke 7 v3135

**Wisdom is Vindicated by All Her Children**

In streets where whispers intertwine,

Two paths of truth collide and rhyme,

Children cry, “What will you do?

John abstains, but Jesus grew.”

John, the voice, in desert's chill,

A life of fasting, bends to will,

Yet murmurs rise, the harsh refrain:

“He’s too strict; he preaches pain.”

Then Jesus came, with laughter’s grace,

Among the feasts, He found His place,

But still, their tongues, like daggers, thrust,

“A glutton here, a sinner’s lust.”

Yet wisdom speaks from hidden ties,

Beyond the noise, the heart lies wise,

The truth will stand, though shadows scoff,

In every soul, her echoes soft.

Let us reflect on each refrain,

As we remember, through our pain,

For voices may chide, yet love will shine,

In faithful hearts, the light divine. Amen.
