The 1st Letter to the Thessalonians Chapter 4 Verses 13 thru 18
13 We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, about those who have fallen asleep, so that you may not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose, so too will God, through Jesus, bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 Indeed, we tell you this, on the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself, with a word of command, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God, will come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore, console one another with these words.
In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, the Apostle Paul addresses the concerns of the Thessalonian believers regarding those who had died before the return of Christ. He reassures them with the profound truth that Jesus will raise His followers first in the End Times, assuring that death is not the end but a transition to eternal life. Paul emphasizes that those who have died in Christ will rise first, and then the living believers will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. This promise serves as a powerful source of hope, reminding us that Jesus, who conquered death, will honor His faithful followers in their surrendered lives.
In this passage, Paul contrasts the despair of those who grieve without hope with the joy that comes from believing in Christ’s resurrection. He urges the believers to comfort one another with these words, reinforcing the assurance that God’s plan will culminate in a magnificent reunion. The surrendered will be both first and last, as Jesus Himself demonstrated through His humility and sacrifice, turning worldly expectations upside down.
As believers, we are called to trust in this promise and live in the light of it. If only we would believe in the resurrection and the power of Christ! Our faith in this truth gives us resilience in the face of suffering and loss, reminding us that our ultimate hope lies not in this world, but in the transformative power of the resurrected Christ. In this, we find comfort and assurance: our surrender leads to a glorious future, where death is swallowed up in victory. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Console One Another With These Words**
In shadows deep, where sorrows dwell,
The weary hearts have tales to tell,
Yet whispers rise, a hope divine,
In Christ's embrace, our spirits shine.
For those who’ve gone, no need for fear,
His promise holds, our hearts draw near,
In thunderous hope, He calls our name,
To raise the lost and end all shame.
The dead in Christ shall rise anew,
With radiant light, like morning dew,
They'll greet the sky, with joyful song,
In heaven's grace, where they belong.
And we who stand, in faith’s embrace,
Shall meet them there, in that holy space,
Together bound, in love’s sweet thrall,
Where death no more shall hold us all.
O glorious day, when Christ appears,
To wipe away all pain and fearful tears,
The first and last, in Him we trust,
Our hearts in Him, immortal and just.
So let us share this hope with all,
In love and peace, on Him we call,
For in His arms, we shall abide,
In life eternal, with Christ, our guide. Amen.
