The 1st Letter of John Chapter 5 Verse 13 thru 21

13 I write these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God. 14 And we have this confidence in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.15 And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, we know that what we have asked him for is ours. 16 If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray. 17 All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly. 18 We know that no one begotten by God sins; but the one begotten by God he protects, and the evil one cannot touch him. 19 We know that we belong to God, and the whole world is under the power of the evil one. 20 We also know that the Son of God has come and has given us discernment to know the one who is true. And we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 21 Children, be on your guard against idols.

In 1 John 5:13-21, the Apostle John offers profound assurance to believers, emphasizing the certainty of our eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. He writes, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” This declaration is not merely a comforting thought; it is a bold affirmation of the security found in being born of God.

John continues to remind us that through our relationship with Christ, we have the power of prayer. Verse 14 encourages us to approach God with confidence, knowing that He hears us when we ask according to His will. Such confidence stems from our identity as children of God, who safeguards us in His love. The ultimate assurance is that those begotten by God are protected from the evil one. This protection is a promise that enables us to live boldly in a world filled with trials and temptations.

Moreover, John warns us of the lurking dangers of sin, affirming that we should lead lives that reflect our faith. Yet, he encourages us by highlighting that our connection to the true God shields us from destructive influences. We live under the watchful eye of our Heavenly Father, who nurtures and guides us toward eternal communion with Him.

In conclusion, John’s message in these verses is clear: if you are born of God, the evil one cannot touch you. As believers, we are cocooned in divine protection and assured of eternal life. Let us embrace this truth, resting in the knowledge that we are cherished and shielded by God’s grace, moving forward with confidence in our eternal destiny. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey Happy Birthday! and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

01-09-2026 1 John 5 v1321

**He Is The True God And Eternal Life**

In the light of faith, a truth unfolds,

A letter of love from ages of old.

John penned his heart, in wisdom divine,

That we may know we're His to forever shine.

To those who believe in the name so true,

Eternal life is given, a promise anew.

For in Christ's embrace, assurance we find,

A sanctuary of peace, forgiveness unconfined.

With confidence bold, we approach the throne,

In prayer we uplift, our hearts laid bare and known.

For whatever we ask, in accordance with His will,

Is granted with love; our souls He does fill.

But take heed, dear friend, as the verse then aligns,

For sin does exist, and each heart often pines.

Yet, the sin unto death is a mystery still,

For others, we pray, our love to fulfill.

In this dance of faith, we know our true kin,

For he who is born of God overcomes sin.

And the world, with its darkness, we boldly defy,

In the light of the Son, we forever will fly.

So keep watch over idols, for they whisper and sway,

In the richness of grace, let our hearts gently stay.

We are His beloved, in truth we abide,

In the spirit of love, let our hearts open wide.

With gratitude deep, as John’s message prevails,

We find hope in the Savior, whose love never fails.

For though we are journeying through time and through strife,

In the arms of our Father, we find eternal life. Amen.
